Big Sister Program

The Big Sister program is designed to help new 9-Hole members acclimate easily to the league and the golf course. Each new member can be assigned a Big Sister if they so desire.

As a Big Sister, you will play with them the first couple of times to introduce them to the course and describe what their membership entails using the following information as a guide:

  • How and when to sign up on Chelsea

  • How to find the Golf 9-Hole Ladies Website

  • The event binder and where it is located

  • The Chip in process (sign up and 25 cent deposit)

  • When to arrive at the driving range before their designated tee time (or shotgun as necessary)

  • Review the game schedule - explain the games and point out special events (for example our monthly lunch meetings and the Duke & Duchess—tournament)

  • KISS events and encourage them to sign up for some (mention we belong to the Lee County Council of the ladies 9-hole golf association and that, at a minimum, our President attends the twice annual meetings and reports back to our members)

  • Keeping score

  • Golf etiquette

  • Any additional aids that may help, for example, golf beads to help them keep track of their strokes, golf gloves, visors/hats, sunscreen, etc.

  • Make sure to ask if they have any questions, if you don’t know the answer right away, ensure them you will find out and get back to them.
